This is our feature page for Discover application seekers. That is, consumers looking for the DiscoverCard line of Credit cards. Discover financial seems much better positioned to withstand this ongoing and protracted recession than many of its competitors. Several major issuers including Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America and even relatively conservative companies such as Amercan Express have pulled back significantly in their online marketing efforts....as a cost cutting measure. Discover has done so to a lesser extent and it's releases relevant to it's financial exposures shows its comparative health.
It is ironic that the least popular (although one of the most highly recommended) of the major types of cards (Visa, MasterCard and Amercan Express being the thers) seems to have withstood the financial downturn most favorably.
